Master the Persistence!

Image
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” PERSISTENCE AND SELF-ESTEEM In general people with higher self-esteem are more likely to persist on a difficult task than people with lower self-esteem. This seems intuitive. If you believe you are a competent person with a good chance of succeeding at most things, you are less likely to quit. What seems less intuitive is the following finding: People tend to persist longer at solving problems when they are told that what they are doing is difficult as opposed to easy. Why? Failing at a task that everyone else finds easy can be humiliating and damaging to self-esteem. In contrast,...

Journaling for Self Growth!

Image
Journaling for me has been life changing. I have started journaling two years back and it has helped me a lot in my journey. Journaling does show us the blueprint of our mind and our thought process. When you start Journaling, you will recognize immediately how uncertain our mind is. Everyday start writing and you will have a good analysis of your thoughts. Certainly, you will know how our mind switches from different topics with or without any links to it. Journaling does create a structure to follow and plan to go through it. Goals and plans for career 2. My Personal Life 3. My Learnings As per your convenience you can add some more divisions or any specific division. How does Journaling help? 1. Journaling Generates Clarity And Congruence This keystone habit has ...

Emotional and social skills are four times more important than IQ when considering success and prestige in professional settings. We all have different personalities, different wants and needs, and different ways of showing our emotions. Navigating through this all takes tact and cleverness - especially if we hope to succeed in life. This is where emotional intelligence becomes important. People with high emotional intelligence are usually successful in most things they do. Why? Because they're the ones that others want on their team. When people with high emotional intelligence send an email, it gets answered. When they need help, they get it. Because they make others feel good, they go through life much more easily than people who are easily angered or upset. What Is Emotional Intelligence? Emotional  intelligence  refers to the ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. Emotional intelligence, it is generally ...

Life Transforming Habits!

Image
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not a act, but a habit"  quote by Aristotle has always influenced me. Habits form when you engage in behavior repeatedly in the presence of consistent stimuli. That habits are "automatic" responses to familiar environmental cues. You save mental energy by developing habitual responses to familiar cues, situations, and even people that you encounter on a regular basis. If we don’t learn good habits, life becomes more difficult. We have a choice: Get hard on ourselves so life becomes easier, or get easy on ourselves resulting in life getting harder. Successful people choose good habits over a stagnant life. At first it might not seem like you are accomplishing much, but don’t be fooled. “Small hinges open big doors.” Changing habits is not just a matter of willpower, despite what you’ve probably learned. Sure, we all have habits we’ve tried to break and failed. And good habits we’ve tried to ...
