Building Strong Mental Health

Image
Mental health influences how you think, feel and behave in daily life . Psychology often discusses mental health -- but what’s not often discussed is a clear definition of mental strength. To me, mental strength means that you regulate your emotions, manage your thoughts, and behave in a positive manner, despite your circumstances. Developing mental strength is about finding the courage to live according to your values and being bold enough to create your own definition of success. People who are mentally healthy have A sense of contentment A zest for living and the ability to laugh and have fun. The ability to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity. A sense of meaning and purpose, in both their activities and their relationships. The flexibility to learn new skills and adapt to change. A balance between work and play, rest and activity, etc. The ability to build and maintain fulfilling relationships. Self-confidence ...

Leaders are Readers

Image
Firstly, Leaders are naturally inquisitive, which leads them on a quest for knowledge. Leaders are hungry for knowledge thus they want to understand life, people, and reality. Reading can be a powerful catalyst for thinking; it has the potential for stimulating   wisdom . A long while ago, I heard someone say, “Leaders are readers.” It made a big impression on me, and I never forgot it. Of course, it doesn’t follow that all readers are leaders, but I think we can safely say with little exception, all leaders are readers . We all in our life are looking for success in different areas of life like personal, professional, social, Monetary etc. You will agree with me that most of the time instead of appreciating the things we have, which we have more than enough, we often complain about things or circumstances. While more we complain or blame the situation, we attract more of such things. Why not be grateful instead? Make a list of things you have right now, you will understand how much we have at present, with us and by being grateful you will attract more abundance to you. Benefits of Being Grateful ·         Gratitude improves psychological health ·         Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression ·         Grateful people sleep better ·         Gratitude improves self-esteem ·         Gratitude increases...

Why Empathy is important?

Image
We are generally pretty well-attuned to our own feelings and emotions. But empathy allows us to "walk a mile in another's shoes," so to speak. It permits us to understand the emotions that another person is feeling. For many of us, seeing another person in pain and responding with indifference or even outright hostility seems utterly incomprehensible. But the fact that some people do respond in such a way clearly demonstrates that empathy is not a universal response to the suffering of others. So why do we feel empathy? Why does it matter? And what impact does it have on our behavior? What Is Empathy? Empathy is simply recognizing emotions in others, and being able to "put yourself in another person's shoes" – understanding the other person's perspective and reality. To be empathic, you have to think beyond yourself and your own concerns. Once you see beyond your own world, you'll realize that there's so much to discover and a...
